Had some guys that I work with go to workout at lunch time.And they got the feeling that the gym wont be open that much longer.They were taking inventory and packing contracts into bankers box’s.

Anyone interested in a RT up to LKN this weekend for a WOD?  We have thrown it around a little bit and Amelia will be traveling so I thought this might be as good of a time as any.  

Mud Run- Let’s try to get this finalized before this Friday.  The prices goes up after the the 15th.    It’s going to be fun!

Owner of Peak Fitness Files for Bankruptcy

CHARLOTTE, NC — Fitness Management Group Inc., parent company of Charlotte, NC-based Peak Fitness, has filed for bankruptcy.

The Chapter 11 filing took place Friday in the Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of North Carolina. As part of the restructuring, Fitness Management Group will sell its Peak Fitness assets to Nevada-based Fuzion Investment Capital LLC, pending the bankruptcy court’s approval.

Last month, Peak Fitness closed three clubs in the Raleigh, NC area, with four more scheduled to close or be sold in the coming weeks.

According to a press release, Fitness Management Group said the bankruptcy filing came as a result of property leases that were negotiated at the height of the real estate market, the continued economic downturn and the acquisition of select underperforming assets from the Capital Health Club chain in Raleigh. That group, which operated as Peak Capital Holdings LLC, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in April.

“Peak Fitness has made some difficult decisions towards reorganization over the past couple of months, including closing the majority of our underperforming facilities in the Raleigh, NC, market,” Jeffrey R. Stec, CEO of Fitness Management Group, said in a statement. “Restructuring with Fuzion will allow the business to establish a re-energized platform for growth and a strong commitment to the best customer service in the industry. We look forward to working closely with Fuzion to help provide our members with a quality experience at an affordable price.”

Fitness Management currently has 17 Peak Fitness locations in North and South Carolina, down from the 33 clubs it listed on its Web site in April.

This Saturday, going to Macs on South Blvd.  6pm for drinks and 7pm for dinner.  I posted on the CFC site as well.  We can car pool if you would like.  We can meet at my office around 5:30-5:45.   Thought it would be fun to get out of Fort Mill, but we can always head back this way before we get too out of control!!  Hope to see you guys Saturday.

Tim and Shelly Kinney’s dad had a heart attack today. He is in the hospital at CMC. If everyone could please keep their family in your prayers.

Come celebrate the 4^th with us at the lake! 

The party starts around noon and will go until the fireworks are over. 

Grilling won’t start until 5:00 but there will be plenty of snacks beforehand.

Feel free to bring any appetizer/side dish/dessert you are proud of making but know this is not mandatory.  Some beverages will be provided.

    Drop in for bit or stay all day, anything goes on this great holiday!
